Letting MotoDealerHQ support in
Grant MotoDealerHQ support time-limited, read-only or read-write access to your console, revoke it at any time, and contact support.
MotoDealerHQ staff can't look inside your dealer console on their own. When you want help with something in your account, you grant support access for a set time and a set level. Every action support takes is recorded in your audit log, and you can end the access at any moment.
How it protects you #
- You decide. Support can only open your console while an unexpired grant from your dealership exists.
- Time-limited. A grant lasts 1, 4, 24 or 72 hours.
- Limited powers. Even with read-and-write access, support can never manage staff or roles, change billing or settings, handle API keys, integrations or marketplace credentials, see costs or full credit-application details, export, or delete anything.
- Visible. A banner shows throughout a support session.
- Recorded. The session start and every action are written to your audit log as Platform support: their email, and to MotoDealerHQ's own log.
- Ends instantly. Revoking or expiring the grant ends the session on support's next click. So does support staff losing their own support role.
Grant support access #
- Open Settings › Support access.
- Under Grant temporary access to platform support, fill in:
- Reason: what you need help with, for example "Help configuring CSV import" (5 to 500 characters).
- Duration: 1 hour, 4 hours (the default), 24 hours or 72 hours.
- Access: Read-only, or Read and write (no staff, billing, API key or export access).
- Select Grant access.
- Tell MotoDealerHQ support that access is ready. They open your console from their side through a one-time link that works for 2 minutes.
Check and revoke grants #
The Grants table lists every grant with who created it, the reason, the access level, when it expires (in UTC) and when support last used it.
- Find the active grant.
- Select Revoke.
Support is signed out on their next click. Expired and revoked grants stay in the list for your records.
Which access level to choose #
| You need support to… | Choose |
|---|---|
| Look at a setting, an import result or an error you're seeing | Read-only |
| Fix a page, set up an import, adjust inventory or website content with you | Read and write |
| Change users, roles, billing, API keys or integrations | Neither: do it yourself (support can't) |
Read-only lets support use only "view" permissions. Read and write adds most changes, still within the limits above.
Contact support #
The same page has a Contact support form.
- Enter a Subject and describe How can we help?
- Pick a Priority: Low, Normal or High.
- Select Send request.
Your requests appear under Your requests with their status. Open one to read replies and answer.
When your account is suspended or cancelled #
Even in a read-only console you can still revoke support access, open support tickets and reply to them.
Tips #
- Grant the shortest time that fits the job, and revoke the grant when you're done.
- Put the ticket number or a short description in Reason. It shows in the grant list, so you can tell grants apart later.
- After a write-level session, look through the audit log for entries by Platform support to review what changed.
