Group inventory and per-rooftop publication
Let rooftop staff see other stores' units for cross-selling, choose whether prices are shared, and control which rooftops publish to the website and feeds.
In a dealer group, a customer at one store often wants a unit that sits at another. Group inventory shows every rooftop's stock in one list so staff can find it and ask for a transfer. You decide how much staff who are limited to their own rooftop may see of the other stores.
Open group inventory #
- Open Inventory › Group inventory.
- Use Search, Rooftop and Condition to narrow the list, then select Show.
- To get a unit from another store, use Request to my rooftop on its row (staff limited to some rooftops), or open the unit and use its Stock transfers card. See stock transfers.
(open full size)- Search and rooftop filter — search by year, make, model, trim or stock number, and pick one rooftop or all.
- Rooftop code — the store that has the unit.
- Availability — Available, Not listed yet (draft), On hold (deposit, deal, auction or pending) or In transfer.
- Advertised price — shown for your own rooftops always, and for other rooftops only when the group shares prices. Otherwise it reads "Not shared".
The list shows units that are available, pending or in draft, 50 per page, with the condition, mileage and days in stock.
(open full size)Choose what rooftop staff can see #
Only a group administrator can change this setting.
- Open Settings › Dealer group.
- In Group inventory visibility, choose one option.
- Select Save.
(open full size)- Off (default) — staff limited to some rooftops see only their own rooftops' units.
- Availability — they also see other rooftops' units, read-only: rooftop, stock number, year, make, model, trim, condition, mileage, availability and days in stock.
- Availability and advertised prices — the same, plus the advertised price.
Whatever you choose, customer, lead, deposit, deal and cost details of other rooftops are never shown, and their vehicle pages stay closed. Staff with access to all rooftops always see everything their permissions allow.
Control what each rooftop publishes #
Each location decides what reaches your public website and marketplace feeds. Open Settings › Locations, choose the store, and use:
- Publish this rooftop's vehicles on the website, sitemap and feeds — off keeps the store's units off the website, search, sitemap, deposits, buy online and every marketplace feed.
- Website publication — separate switches for the store page, its team members, events and promotions, a feed default, and a temporarily closed banner.
Step-by-step instructions are in adding and managing locations. For channels and rooftop filters in feeds, see marketplace feeds.
Tips #
- Start with Availability and add prices later if your stores agree on pricing. Group price rules help keep advertised prices consistent.
- Units from your own rooftops link to their vehicle pages; units from other rooftops do not.
