The SEO tools find what is holding your website back in search results and link you straight to the fix. They work entirely on your own website. Nothing is sent to an outside service, and audit visits do not count in your analytics.

For the basics that every plan has (page titles, descriptions, sitemap), see Website SEO.

Before you start #

  • Your plan must include the Marketing feature (Pro and Enterprise).
  • You need marketing.view to see results, and marketing.manage to run the audit and save changes.

Run the site audit #

  1. Open Marketing › SEO.
  2. Under Site audit, select Run the audit now. It takes up to a minute on large sites.
  3. Open the result. You see a score out of 100 and a list of findings, each with a link to where you fix it: the page editor, vehicle search text, photos, Website › Media or Website › Redirects.
  4. Fix the errors first, then the warnings, and run the audit again.

The SEO page. Numbers match the list below.
  1. Run the audit. Checks every page of your website.
  2. Local SEO, landing pages. The other SEO tools, plus a shortcut to Redirects.
  3. Missing SEO text. Pages and vehicles that still use generated titles and descriptions.

What the audit checks #

  • Missing, too long or too short titles and meta descriptions, and duplicates across pages.
  • Missing or multiple main headings (H1).
  • Images without alt text, including vehicle photos.
  • Thin pages (fewer than 150 words of content; form pages are exempt) and thin vehicle descriptions.
  • Broken internal links, with the pages that link to them.
  • Sitemap problems: links that fail or are hidden from search, and content pages missing from the sitemap.
  • Invalid structured data, and vehicle pages missing name, make, model, year, condition, photos, price, VIN, description, or mileage for used units.
  • Page weight: large pages, scripts and styles, images that load too early or have no size, and uploaded originals over 1 MB.

The score starts at 100. Each error costs 3 points and each warning 1, with at most 15 points lost per check.

Write search text for pages and vehicles #

  1. On Marketing › SEO, look at Missing SEO text.
  2. For a page, select it to open the page editor, and fill in the SEO title and Meta description.
  3. For a vehicle, select it, fill in the Search title and Search description, and select Save. Leave a field empty to keep the generated text. Search results show about 60 characters of the title and 155 of the description.

Check local SEO #

  1. On Marketing › SEO, select Local SEO.
  2. For each public location, check the name, address and phone number (NAP), and the list of anything missing, such as hours or map coordinates.
  3. Select Edit location to fix a location. The report also flags phone numbers formatted differently across locations, a main phone shared by several locations, and duplicate location names.

Each location page carries dealer structured data (address, map position, opening hours and department phone numbers). The report shows whether it is complete and valid.

Build a keyword landing page #

A landing page targets a search such as "Used Yamaha personal watercraft in Lakeport Landing".

  1. On Marketing › SEO, select Landing pages.
  2. Choose the Condition, Make, Vehicle type and Location. Add a Keyword if you like.
  3. Choose a Copy template: Local buyer, Value and financing, or Selection and expertise.
  4. Select Preview, then Create draft page.
  5. Open the new page in Website › Pages, edit the text, and publish it.

Landing page builder. Numbers match the list below.
  1. Pick the search. Condition, make, type, location and template.
  2. Preview first. Check the text before you create the page.

The text is written from your real stock for that search (how many units, price and year range, top models, location). The page gets a banner, text with a link to the filtered inventory, featured inventory, an FAQ and a contact form. It is always saved as a draft and ends with a reminder to edit it before publishing.

Verify Google Search Console #

  1. In Google Search Console, add your website and choose HTML tag verification.
  2. On Marketing › SEO, paste the tag (or just its code) into Verification code under Google Search Console, and select Save.
  3. Go back to Search Console and select Verify.

The tag is added to every page of your website. You need your own Google account for Search Console.

Tips #

  • Run the audit after big changes, such as a new theme, a batch of new pages, or a large inventory import.
  • Fix broken links with redirects when a page has moved.
  • Write custom search text for your best-selling or highest-margin units first.
