Alerts by email and text
Choose which alerts you get by app push, email and text message, such as new inquiries, credit applications, trade-ins and chats, set quiet hours for texts, and set dealership defaults for new staff.
Every alert sent to you appears under Notifications in the console. On My alerts you choose, for each kind of alert, whether you also get it as an app push, an email or a text message.
Before you start #
- For texts, add your mobile number under your name → My account → Mobile phone.
- Texts need a plan that includes SMS messaging. If it does not, the Text column cannot be ticked.
- App push needs notifications turned on for a device. See Push notifications.
Choose your alerts #
- Select your name, then My alerts.
- For each alert, tick App push, Email and Text as you like.
- Leave No texts at night ticked if you do not want texts during your dealership's quiet hours (9 pm to 7 am unless a manager changed them).
- Select Save.
- Select Send me a test text to check texts reach your phone. You can send 3 tests in 10 minutes.
Until you save, you get your dealership's default alerts and the page says so. To go back to the defaults later, select Use the dealership defaults.
Set the dealership defaults #
Managers choose what new staff start with.
- Go to Settings → Staff alert defaults.
- Tick App push, Email and Text for each alert.
- Under Quiet hours for texts, set From and Until (dealership time; the window can run past midnight), and choose whether quiet hours are on by default.
- Select Save defaults.
The defaults apply to every member who has not saved their own choices on My alerts, including everyone who joins later. The page shows how many staff currently use them. Members who saved their own choices keep them. Without dealership defaults, app push and email are on for every alert and texts are off.

Who gets an alert #
My alerts decides how you hear about alerts that are sent to you. It does not decide who receives them. For example, a new inquiry goes to the assigned salesperson (or to managers when nobody is assigned), and a credit application goes to the lead's salesperson and everyone who manages finance. Managers set this up in the dealership's lead routing and workflow settings.
What a text says #
A text says what happened and links to the console, for example "Harbor & Trail Powersports: Credit application update https://…". Customer names and message text are included only when the dealership turns on Show customer names and message previews in push notifications and text alerts on the Mobile app page.
Tips #
- Text yourself only for alerts that cannot wait, such as New inquiries and leads, Website chat and Credit applications. Use email for the rest.
- During quiet hours the text is skipped, not held until morning. The alert still appears in the console, by push and by email.
